In short
50/30/20 Budget Planner is a one-time download: an offline web app (no account needed) plus a separate Google Sheets™ template (free Google account) for splitting your income into needs, wants and savings & debt and comparing that plan with what you actually spend each month. No subscription.
The 50/30/20 rule is simple on paper: half your income for needs, 30% for wants, 20% for savings and debt. Keeping to it is the harder part. This planner starts from your planned monthly income, turns the split into amounts and shows each bucket's plan, actual spending and what's left. Category budgets, savings goals and a yearly overview use these figures too, and you can set your own split.
The actual figures come only from the transactions you record. No bank data is imported, nothing is recorded on its own and no money is moved. "Money left" is what remains of your recorded income – not your bank balance. Planning by payday instead? The Paycheck Budget Planner fits better.
An organizing tool – not financial, tax or legal advice.
The 15-second tour
The budget plan on a laptop. Labels appear one by one: 50/30/20 Split, Budget vs. Actual, Recurring Entries, Savings Goals and Yearly View. A small card works out the split: planned income $5,600, needs 50% $2,800, wants 30% $1,680, savings 20% $1,120. Then the yearly overview, budget vs. actual by month, the recurring entries and the savings goals. It ends with: offline web app + Google Sheets, three editions (US, International, Deutsch), separate files, no syncing.
