Editorial guidelines

stillmeasure. News publishes news, guides and reviews about apps, AI, productivity and gaming. These guidelines describe how we choose topics, research, test, correct and earn money – and what you can rely on in every article.

Who writes our news and guides

Articles are written and edited by the stillmeasure. editorial team and published under the byline "stillmeasure. Editorial Team". Every article shows when it was published, when it was last updated and how long it takes to read.

What we cover

We write about the technology people use every day: apps on Android and the web, AI tools, productivity methods and tools, and mobile gaming. Guides explain how to get a task done. Reviews and comparisons help you choose. News covers releases and changes that matter to everyday users. Product news about our own apps, games and planners appears in the "Our Apps" section.

Research and sources

  • We prefer primary sources: official documentation, manufacturers' help pages, standards bodies, public authorities and published studies.
  • Facts that come from a source are listed in a numbered Sources section at the end of the article, with a link wherever one is available.
  • Health, money and legal topics are explained in general terms only. Articles on these topics are not medical, financial or legal advice, and they say so.

How we test

  • Tested means used. When an article says we tested a product, we used it ourselves, and the article says on which device or setup and which version.
  • No test, no claim. When we have not used a product ourselves, we say so and rely on named sources instead.
  • Scores only from our own tests. A review shows a score only if our team tested the product and set that score. We don't publish star ratings from unnamed users, and we don't invent ratings.
  • Pros and cons for every product. Reviews and comparisons list the strengths and the weaknesses we found, plus who a product is best for and who should look elsewhere.
  • Comparisons explain their criteria. "Best of" lists name the criteria behind the order, for example features, price, privacy and ease of use.

Independence

  • Affiliate links never decide a verdict. Some articles contain affiliate links. We may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Whether a product is recommended is decided before any link is added. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
  • Clear labels. Articles with affiliate links say so at the top, and every affiliate button is labeled as an affiliate link.
  • Our own products. When an article mentions a stillmeasure. app, game or planner, it is labeled as our own product.
  • No paid articles in disguise. We don't publish paid content as editorial content. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labeled as sponsored.

Updates and corrections

We review articles when products, prices or facts change, and the "Updated" date shows the latest review. If we get something wrong, we correct it. Corrections that change the meaning of an article are noted at the end of the article.
